CHOCOLATE PROTEIN WAFFLES

Jax Moorcroft
The kids go crazy for these as having something with chocolate in for breakfast seems so indulgent! But the high protein content and relatively low carb aspect of this recipe makes it a great start to the morning for the whole family! Adjust the sweetness of the actual waffle to your preference, we find that once the toppings have been added they're perfectly sweet already!

Course Breakfast
Servings 10 waffles

Ingredients

  • 3 cups almond flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder
  • 8 eggs
  • 250 g cream cheese
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blitz until well combined
  • Let the mixture rest while you setup the waffle maker
  • While the waffle maker starts to heat up blitz the ingredients one last time to fully incorporate
  • Pour enough batter into each waffle grid to fill into all the corners but not overflow. The batter will rise and fill in the top side of the waffle grid
  • These waffles are not overly sweet, serve with honey, maple syrup, chocolate hazelnut spread or cream. For an extra indulgence or to turn this into a dessert, add a scoop of chocolate ice cream while the waffle is still warm
